Do you know that new house have their warranty period?

This warranty period for building construction industry called Defect Liability Period (DLP).

The duration for DLP period shall depend on your Sales and Purchase Agreement contract which the warranty was given by the developer of your new house.

Defect Liability Period is defined as period of time you receive delivery of vacant possession and keys to your new property and within the period of defect liability period, the developer is responsible to fix any defects lodged by the unit owners.

What should you inspect to claim this defect liability period?

1. Property description according to the agreed Sales and Purchase Agreement
2. Functionality of property fixtures
3. Workmanship Satisfaction
4. Preparation and Submission of Defect Report to Developer.
